Overview:

Don’t get too excited, this update is mostly about getting the game into a final 1.0 state. The “new” content is not very long and isn’t for continuing the main story.
-Fixed various soft lock bugs that have prevented players from finishing the game. This might retroactively fix some save files, but some players may need to restart their game.
-Added an uncensor patch for content that Patreon had removed. This includes: An early porno featuring dog girl twins, a daydream featuring Penny and Molly, and the complete Halloween event that lets you eat the poison apple (and suffer the consequences).
-Added two post-ending scenes that were given to top tier patrons. They feature a Harpy and a Dryad and can be viewed in your room.
-A handful of misc bug fixes/tweaks

Overview:
ONHA was originally a very simple idea. All that was needed was to craft a titillating hentai game based on the My Hero Academia Manga/Anime series, because we didn’t want to go into something as elaborate as JPDE – Sonata of Fire… but, like many things in game development -even fan-games-, it spun out and become something else entirely. A compromise between those two extremes.

ONHAcademia MINA is an adventure game featuring aged-up versions of the manga’s heroines, now attending post-secondary education at UA Academy, going through a story which will explore themes and situations intended for a Mature Audience. Mature here stands for: having reached a stage of mental or emotional development characteristic of an adult.

The story will be from the point of view of Mina Ashido, as she takes a personal journey into the hidden side of the city of Musutafu, the Hero Business, and the society of 2055 Japan as a whole…​

 

 

(2022-10-23) Demo MINA

Hello thar, Meinos Kaen here… And it’s finally arrived.

The demo for ONHAcademia – MINA. The starting point. The first taste of the path the game will take towards its completion. It’s been a long winding road, with changes in scope, tone, themes, art style… More than JPDE – Sonata of Fire, ONHA has taught me just why pre-production is such a long process in Game Development.

You can spend months, years even, just discussing and going back and forth over what exactly you want to do with a game. Doing, drafting, crafting, canceling… And then, all of a sudden, everything unlocks and you push out something definitive in a couple of months. In our case, the missing piece was the new engine: NARRAT.

Created and regularly updated by one person, the NARRAT Engine is a narrative RPGs oriented piece of technology, meaning that it’s got the functionality of a visual novel but also already has RPG elements built in it (skills, experience, rolls, item inventory, quest log…). Simply put, it was exactly the engine we needed for ONHA and it jumpstarted development.

To give you an idea, we discovered the engine on the 14th of July 2022. Little more than four months later -with summer vacation in the middle-, here we are. The Demo.

This is, as specified, a starting point. From now on, the game will be updated periodically -and the engine is still being made better and new features added- but the Demo will give you an indication of how most systems in the game work, the basic setup of the story, and the tone. Big shoutout to the new artist we’re collaborating with for the game, Bennee.

There are two versions of the game: a web-based one, where all you’ll keep on your computer is the save files; an app-based one, where you’ll download the entire game.

Warning: the Narrat Engine is still developing, so please make sure to report any bugs. If you’re interested in the engine’s development or you’d like to make something yourself, it’s free to download and easy to learn!

Q: Engrish is very strong in the game my friend. When will it be fixed?
A: As non-English speakers, we tried our best to translate the game. We want to hire a reviewer as the game grows. Until that moment arrives, we would be happy if you could report the bugs in our discord group.

Q: How frequent will the updates be?
A: As freelancers, we are only able to work on the game in our spare time. If the community around the game grows, we can focus more of our time on it. We currently provide a chapter every 2-3 months.

Q: The first chapter was too short. Will the others have the same duration?
A: No. The idea is that the next chapters will be longer. The first chapter is just shorter because that part of the story had to last that long (and we were eager to see the audience’s opinion).

Q: Do you already have the whole story decided?
A: Almost that. We have an idea of how to get where we want to go, but the patreons will decide which girl we should focus on each chapter, and we’ll tailor the main story to that.

Q. Will the game have more girls, or will it just be 5?
A. The game will have more girls. As the story progresses and we get to know the university better, more characters will be introduced. However, the main girls of the game will be the 5 that are in the first chapter.

Q. And after all, how many chapters will the game have?
A. That will depend on what the patreons want. To be honest, we have at least 6 chapters in mind. And I believe that at most there will be 12 chapters (stories need an end).
