Overview:
It’s your first day as a transfer student at Hinsdale University, a sleepy college tucked away in a small town in New England. Explore Hinsdale University and meet its interesting students over the course of an academic year. And once you’re done? Do it again, with the game built with branching choices and a New Game+ mode.

This game features seven girls with lengthy storylines, along with a dozen or so girls you can romance.   • Major Update: Added Abby’s ending. This is a very lengthy sequence that has multiple endings, paths, and unique events. The Domme (Brat) and Sub (Tamed) paths are equal in length. There are three endings for each path, making six in all. In all, there are 420 images in the entire ending sequence, with 210 anime images and 210 real-life images. For reference of the scale of this: there are 316 scene images in the “base” game, with all the sex scenes, PicFeed posts, and so on. So yes, it’s a lot of new content!
  • Added the passage teleporter in the Debug section in Settings. This will let the player input the name of a passage and teleport there. Want to start Abby’s endings right away? Use these passage names: Abby Tutorial Sub (for her tamed/sub ending) and Abby Tutorial Dom (for her brat/domme ending)
  • Changed Abby’s real-life headshots (normal, brat, tamed)
  • Replaced Abby’s chastity anal scene image with a better one (in my opinion, at least)

  • Adjusted where the Twilight route achievement is granted (Note: Progress on this achievement has been reset for all players as a result).
  • Increased the difficulty of the combat section at the end of Chapter 16.
  • Blind now prevents the cooldown on Overwhelm from being reset if a skill misses or is parried.

= Bugfixes

  • Fixed a bug where talking to everyone for the Merchant Quarter quest before talking to Michael before turning in would not award Darics. Unfortunately, I cannot fix this one retroactively.
  • Fixed various typos and other minor issues.
  • Various minor fixes that I honestly can’t remember any of right now. I’m sure I did some though. :X

Developer Notes:

The game is currently in ALPHA phase, and made on a custom engine, so bugs are to be expected.
The game is currently in DEMO phase, so don’t waste too much of your time, as there’s barely any content.
The game will contain Romance as one of it’s main routes, but it’s not just a romance game, it also contains avoidable NTR as a punish/playstyle mechanic.
If you want to play a good game and not Beta Test, you should wait until I remove the demo from the title, as I would’ve deemed the game worth playing at that time.Summary

Project Novem is a sandbox management game, with a turn-based, combo-focused RPG combat. You take control of one of the generals of an organization,tasked to defeat a curse, which is on the fringe of wiping off humanity. This version a demo, with only the foundations of the game, so don’t waste too much of your time on it.Development

  • The main games I’m using as reference are Nebelgeister and Karryn’s Prison.
  • But I’m also referencing Celesphonia and Pray Game for their general structure and events.
  • And Encode Encore! for the H System.

I’m going for a Full Romance Route, with Avoidable NTR as a punish/playstyle mechanic. As a sandbox game, the route you’ll end up getting will not only depend on how you play, but on how well and optimally you play as well, so no “A (NTR)” or “B (Romance)”, your actions will affect 200 variables, and those will determine your route.

The scenes are made in koikatsu, mostly original, but some modified bepisdb scenes. I’ve been working on it since October 2024, and I’ll be sharing substantial progress every once in a while.

    • Unlocking photos like this still has some pre-requirements (e.g. you need the X-Ray lens to unlock X-Ray photos with it), there are also some special photos that can’t be unlocked with Undeveloped Film.
    • Undeveloped Film is rare to get in the game, and I will hand it out via gift code and bundles on Patreon and Discord.
  • Fixed an issue that could occur when the player has loaded many bonus content packs and they share the same file names.
  • Fixed issue where the Signal Hijacker photos were appearing too often when having many Bonus Content packs and using the bonus content-only cheat.
  • Fixed issues where sounds could be muted after visiting the alley sequence.

Hey guys, long time no see, huh?
Prepare yourself because that’s a fat ass changelog.I’m not going to beat around the bush: I’m working on a second game.
I got bored of Life’s Payback after 90 sex scenes and completely burned out during this last update.

I’m not having fun anymore. I’ve pushed this hentai engine (and myself) to its absolute limit, and right now continuing would just feel like grinding the same mechanics over and over. That wouldn’t be fair to you or to me. The story and characters deserve better than being dragged out when my passion has faded.

I can’t force myself to work more than 3–4 hours a day on it anymore without feeling miserable, so it’s time to step away.

To compensate, I’ve started something completely new that actually excites me again: a bigger challenge, a different tone, fresh mechanics, a new engine approach, and (hopefully) a real step forward for me as a creator.

I’m not abandoning Life’s Payback forever. The game is still there, fully playable, with every scene and update staying available. But active development is on hold. If the spark ever comes back, I might return to it. For now though, I need to work on something that keeps me up late coding because I can’t stop thinking about it.

Thank you for all the support on Life’s Payback, the comments, fan art, encouragement, memes… it meant a lot and carried me through some very long nights.

The new project will use the power of Daz Studio and is still going to be heavy Maledom, with the same other themes you love so much in Life’s payback, hehe.

Expect real gameplay mechanics: combat system (similar to the Lumeria arc), meaningful choices that actually change the game, item crafting, resource gathering, and more.

So, as you can tell, before I eventually come back to Life’s Payback to give it a proper ending, the next content to be delivered is the prologue of my new game.

Since I’ve always failed at giving proper time estimation for the past updates, I will now post weekly/montlhy progress reports on Patreon and Subscribestar.
