Overview:
Divine Dawn is a text-based RPG in which you step into the role of a would-be hero, with dreams of greatness and no likelihood of achieving any of them in a peaceful world with no real genocidal threats. Then you nearly die several times in a row, discover traces of an ancient mystery and (possibly) impending doom, and go on a road trip with colorful cast of comrades to save the world! Maybe. You’ve got a lot of fighting, therapy, adventure, and monster girls to deal with before we get to that point. Fortunately, you’ll usually have a partner at your side to help you out in fights and offer witty(?) banter(?). But only you can decide if it’s worth trading your humanity for the power you need – otherworldly energies offer much, but will change your body over time.​

(3/23) v0.4 Release:

  • The first randomized adventure is out, with a mixture of battles, a boss, normal events, and a special event hinting at future conflict.
  • The Mastery system is out as well, allowing you to upgrade abilities you’ve used enough times to superior versions of themselves.
  • You can now unlock a persistent camp to return to.
  • One new H-scene with Ashley during the Night timeslot
  • Trust and Affection systems added
  • Lots of new music! I highly recommend listening to the Arden Forest Outskirts default music and the camp nighttime music, or the new boss theme.

Feedback
I would greatly appreciate constructive criticism of the game so far!

The Future
The game already has most of the core mechanics functional, and is a solid (albeit rough) representation of what the game’s themes and writing will be like. That said, there are a LOT of functions that are either ingame but not official, or mostly/entirely finished but not usable yet since the plot hasn’t gotten that far yet.

An incomplete list of upcoming features;

  • Modding is a primary focus; it’s already possible to add new abilities, traits, characters, linear areas, etc. to the game, and in the future randomized areas, custom events, camp events, affection events, etc. will be doable as well. I pretty much got into text-based H game stuff with Corruption of Champions 1 back in the day and absolutely love modding in general, no way am I locking this sumbitch down. However, what minimal documentation currently exists is garbage and needs to be rewritten in full, standalone, with an eye for modders rather than notes for myself.
  • Aether, Nether, and [redacted] corruption will unlock new abilities and certain game endings, but move you further and further away from humanity in the process. Some allies may have strong opinions on your growing corruption.
  • Community feedback is also very important. Once I get the game out of early access, I intend to host regular polls to see what characters and content people want to see more of.
  • The ‘camp’ system won’t be accessible until the next update, and is intended as a hub to interact with allies, with conversations, random events, sparring, casual sex, and various other features to offer a sense of progression and life to the world. Unfortunately, the current demo ends with you temporarily yeeted from existence, so it would be kinda weird to be able to have conversations with people in another plane of reality.
  • Down the road, there’s… honestly an embarrassing number of partners planned, a mix of angels, succubi, humans, various monster girls, beastkin, eldritch horrors, deities, and at least one giant mommy.
  • Evolving abilities into mutually exclusive branches i
  • Unlocking other types of weaponry, martial arts, and elemental magic, as well as Aether, Nether, and Abyssal magic. If you can find someone to teach you, anyways…
  • Equipment is in the game and 100% functional, you just can’t see or customize it yet because it would be weird to find a perfectly preserved pair of wizard robes than grant phenomenal cosmic power in an 800 year old dumpster.
  • There is a time system to balance lewd, RPG, and character development stuff!
