JPDE is a fan-made visual novel created by Meinos Kaen. It is based in the world of RWBY, a popular web series created by Rooster Teeth. You are David di Kabegis, a strange newcomer to the world of Remnant who arrives through meteoric crash landing. Upon first awakening, with a dreadful case of amnesia, he encounters Penny Polendina, and from there, his adventure kicks off as he attends the notable Beacon Academy to train as a Huntsman with combat skills he is unaware of ever obtaining. The team is rounded out by their leader, Jacqueline B. Ivory, and Evelyn “Carrots” Damerot.
Ladies and gentlemen… It’s finally here.
Four years in the making. Four years since I first started creating this little project that has evolved beyond my wildest expectations and brought me places I would never have expected and now, the finish line: the main story for JPDE – Sonata of Fire is complete.
First of all, a small apology. This release is entirely main story focused. There are some small QoL improvements but most of our focus over the last two months has been almost exclusively on the main storyline… Which is not to say that we haven’t also been working on the rest of the stuff, as you can see here. ;3
So, as not to spoil the final act of this story, instead of the usual What’s new? we bring you…
WHAT NOW?
What’s next for JPDE now that the story is finished? October is going to be a transitory month, meaning we’re going to catch up on the two Route Events -Ren’s and the Malachite’s- that need to be inserted, the extra outfits and characters. Also, we’re going to decide on a schedule to add more Dance Dates and Final Events, Lewds, Updated CGs, Lewds, proper credits, Lewds, an updated version of a song with a vocalist… The main story may be complete but JPDE still can be polished up. 
Other than that, there are the other projects we are working on which you can find out about on our Patreon, Website or Discord. And then, of course, there’s JPDE2 which is already in the works. It’s going to be a pretty different beast from JPDE so… Be ready. ;D
With that said, there’s nothing for me to do but remind you, as always, to come to our Community Discord to signal any bugs and get tech assistance and enjoy this final chapter in the story of Sonata of Fire!

Melissa’s quest (+2 new characters). New quest with Melissa that can be started after the quest with magic circle. Talk to her. It focused on the dialogues and lore info, and preparing the background for the future events. The part of the quests can be solved in several different ways. I suggest you to make a separate save before starting the quest so you will be sure that you won’t miss side content.

– Added Saving and Loading of Hotbar (old saves may no longer work but idk you can still try it)
– Added Dungeon Reset Button. Can be found in the save, load and settings menus. Use this when a dungeon floor is failing to spawn boss rooms or any other runtime bugs that break the dungeon.
– Added Internal view camera. Can also be enabled in preferences. This feature is experimental and is not yet implemented for the animations.
– Added Item Type to item descriptions.
– Fixed bug where boss rooms were not spawning at all in certain seeds. Seeds should be the same as they were last version but loading an old save may still result in the room not being a boss room. Some seeds may still be broken so let me know which ones!
– Fixed inventory UI causing items to disappear either from drag and drop or the middle menu.
– Fixed bug where the hole in the floor caused saves to be corrupted.
– Fixed Customizer UI where you can only cycle to the right for the races. Can cycle both ways now.
– Fixed Beholder Displace action occuring when the player has no panties or skirt.
– Fixed Resist action such that on success when used if the player is in intercourse, the enemy will stop and while not in intercourse, the enemy’s turn is voided.
– Clicking on an empty slot crashes the game.
– Resetting the dungeon causes camera bug.
– Fixed beholders pushing the player upwards rather than grabbing the player when out of mana. (Beholders have an extended grab radius now, be careful geting close!)
– Fixed beholders dying right before grabbing and causing the player to be stuck in lewd combat with no escape
– Fixed UI bug where options are misaligned
Known Bugs that I could not reproduce/didn’t get to look at yet/haven’t found a fix for:
– More than one boss room spawning?
– Chests spawning far into the walls.
– Pausing the game sorta feels like cheating with the enemies wasting their envy mana on projectiles that disappear/stop moving on pause.
– You cannot unbind a hotbar slot from the inventory slot/powerslot even if the slot becomes empty or a non-usable item. You can only replace it with another slot. This is true even when loading a save.
