FAQ:

What’s the difference between the public/demo version and the other versions?
Well, right now, not a whole lot. The only difference currently is the lack of starting bonus and cheat menu in the demo. The Public/Demo Version also has links promoting our Patreon, Subscribe Star, and Steam Page. In the future, the demo will contain less story, events, clothes, hairstyles etc. As we move forward, the Public/Demo version will have a staggered release from the paid versions.Will You Include X Fetish In The Remake?
That’s a great question! Currently, we plan to do a “Vanilla” remake. Now, that doesn’t mean we won’t include fetishes. Fetishes will be supported later in development and will be optional. Which fetish we focus on first will depend on patrons and how comfortable the artist is with the subject matter. We are going this route mainly because we don’t want feature creep to become problematic. Too many developers promise too much, often leading to abandoned projects. We want to create this game with laser focus. We also know that specific fetishes don’t appeal to everyone. So, by having our main audience vote on fetishes, we hope to bring the most wanted fetishes to the game first when the time comes.How Is The Remake Going To Be Different From The Original?
Aside from the art, engine, and UI, we don’t plan to change much about the game. However, we do plan to rewrite a ton of the story. This doesn’t mean the story will change significantly. It only means we plan to have a more cohesive and polished story. We love the original, but the writing was all over the place. We want to see the same story told but in a better way.Will The Remake Still Have A Female MC?
Yes! We still plan to add a female MC, but to be honest; it’s not something we plan to add for a while. The goal is to get the main systems in place before we divert our attention to these options. Once we have the base mechanics done along with a solid team, we hope to bring the female MC option as soon as possible.

Changed Content:

  • Rerendered: I’ve spent a lot of time relighting and rerendering almost every render of the first update.
  • Rewritten: While the plot itself didn’t change and probably won’t change, I rewrote the first part to be smoother and more interesting. The player character now plays a more active role in the narrative.
  • UI Changes: I adjusted the UI to be a bit easier to use and prettier. Like changes to the journal or the save/load screen.
  • New Textbox: I changed the way the textbox is displayed for a more unique and cinematic look.
  • A Disclaimer: A new content warning message has been added to the games splashscreen.

Notes:

A lot of work went into version 0.2, a lot more than I had anticipated and planned. Together with the repeated hardware failures I experienced in the last month, working on this update was not the most pleasant experience I ever had. Nonetheless, I’m very happy and satisfied with the end result. I also have to give my thanks to StrayHero, the editor for Children of Morn. Without his help things would be much worse, his feedback really helped me improve this version. So, have fun with Children of Morn v0.2 and let me know in the feedback post what you thought about it. As always this is just one update of many to come and I’ll make sure to improve and polish the game as much as I can.

  • Chica on her night will swap the camera away from her if she’s in the room being viewed by the monitor
  • Foxy on her night will swap the camera to her periodically, switching away too quickly from her will make her very angry
  • Fredrika on her night will hover whenever any light in the office turned off, increasing her speed and removing the sounds of her footsteps
  • Mangle will repossess all furniture items from the player for the remainder of her night
  • Puppet will remember the positions she’s been in for a while, this means you will need to make sure to switch to a fresh position to reduce her boredom
  • Springtrap will now max the seduction meter of bots as she walks away from them, if she seduces a bot she will now come for the player instead of the bot
  • In addition to the above, every bot who has enhanced difficulty for the night will be immune to dildos, have their disable mechanics removed (i.e. Mangle’s “overheat” and Bonnie’s “counter hack”), and will ignore Springtrap

Updated the QA machine:

  • Changed the QA machine’s appearance to fix an issue causing it to clip into the wall during some animations
  • Fixed Puppet’s dildo-disabled animation and created a new animation that is more visible

Fixed bugs:

  • Finally fixed a longstanding bug that caused the control deck buttons to some times display the buttons of the previous room
  • Fixed the “Sex Scene Starter” window in the toybox so that it creates sex scenes in the same manner as the “Fuck…” right click menu

  • Added in a checklist in a character’s event screen for any locations that have requirements for them to show up (IE, Mall) because QoL. When a requirement is met, the corresponding part of the list disappears to remove unnecessary clutter.
  • Added in a little bit of extra information regarding finding Main/Character Events and Hints in my blurb when first being introduced to the pseudo sandbox. (You can find character-specific events screen in their respective menus).
  • A character’s lewd events are now colour coded. There will be no hints for this in the game.
  • Mostly figured out the reason for the rough phone transition. Mostly. Now I’m having an issue with previous messages carrying over to new messages, so ignore that part for now. Will be fixed in a future update.
