Trials in Tainted Space is a text game about exploring the universe, yourself, and its myriad inhabitants in fun and customizable ways. Because the entire game is made in text, it’s easy to change scenes on the fly. The game is built to accommodate everything from you playing a studly ship captain to a busty space-slattern to a masculine-looking hermaphrodite to a hard-working mercenary just looking for his next job.​

  • A new location has been added to Dhaal: The Crash Landing. Run by a group of somewhat stranded pirates, you can wet your whistle and more besides. Written by Slab Bulkhead and coded by Gena138.
    • There is a mechanic where the staff will warm up to you over time as you become a regular. The game tracks this by measuring visits across a protracted timespan (~day).
    • This is a huge project (three digit pagecount), so it may come with a pile of bugs to sort out. Slap ’em on the bug report forums, and we’ll get them handled for the next patch.
  • Bug fixes follow: Sabrae actually charges you for implants now.
  • The “safe” square at the entrance to gabtown can no longer proc hostile encounters.
  • Amazona can no longer award you a perk you don’t qualify for (and immediately lose after gaining.)
  • You can no longer visit Thare plantation before unlocking the Zil Codex entry.
  • A number of enemies had attacks adjusted to account for airtight armors.
  • The combat tail now displays on the appearance screen.
  • Prostitute Pro should now properly award the energy gains it displays.
  • A bunch of typos and smaller fixes like properly counting one of Anno’s scenes as a sexual encounter.

One day, Millwer steals a magic book, which includes various forbidden spells. A girl starts investigating the case to get back the book. At the same time, a statue is stolen in a village. To get it back, another girl leaves the village. Both girls head for a house Millwer lives. Well, what will happen to them there…?​

This translation patch will fill all the gaps of the anon translator left, completing Raika’s story and all her scenes, also I’ve re-translated some few critical points. The anon translator made a pretty decent work, but some of his files were left in Japanese (together with his English translation in the file) and other things lacking proper revise.

The translation took more work than I expected, the sex scenes took a long time to translate, but now I can say 100% of Raika’s route is done.

Now let’s talk about the other 2 translations inside the game: First, we have the Shalt’s route translation, which contains all her story and scenes translated, and a few scenes that appear in Raika’s route, all translated by Rouge translator.
The one I worked on is the incomplete Raika’s route translation, which contained about 40% to 50% of her story translated, but none of her scenes, and it was translated by an anonymous translator (I couldn’t find the name).

That’s why, right now, I’m working in a full-revise patch on Raika’s route, when I finish that I’ll post here and on my page.

And finally, Darksshades made 2 patches: One translating and editing images, and the other is a no voice cut, that will stop interrupting a voice when you skip to a text.

Though I did my best, it’s possible that after the next update, I or someone else will realize the game would be better with a tweak to this section. If you’re highly concerned with game balance, I suggest keeping a save prior to this version.

That said, this one has quite a bit of different content I hope you will enjoy. ^-^ Though I want to continue working on Once Ever After, TLS 0.54.0 will be higher priority.

Ada, the female protagonist, is a prodigal mage with the ability to use monster girl’s power as her own. Combine them to create your own play style from a powerful battle-mage to a delicate temptress. Will you overcome your enemies through force or make them into your toys? It’s up to you!

Yorna adjusts to your actions in narrative and quests so both slutty and pure walk-through will be enjoyable. Each scene has 2 versions and I’m thinking about adding the third option where Ada takes the lead completely. Though this stuff is for the future.

H content

The update brings 2 new H events with 2 options each. You can get the first pair from new common enemies – Anubis girls who roam in the tropical forest on Ikko island. The second pair of scenes feature the new boss – Pharaoh Ife with a bit of maniacal lewd ideas. She’s in the same zone.

New features and activities

The kitsune quest’s ending is ready. Help Ayane with all the preparations and see how this mini-story will end. You will get an alternative look for the Miko dress and another pack of kitsune-flavored cutscenes.

The first puzzle is ready is based on the pipe-turning, where you’ll need to connect two exit points with different kinds of pieces.

The second puzzle features a QTE minigame. It’s not hard to complete and will serve as a feedback test for players since I plan to use this module for a greater variety of minigames in future updates and projects. You can use either mouse/touchpad or keyboard arrows to select the runes appearing on the obelisk. Getting the right glyph will allow you to move further and picking the wrong one will reduce the timer you have for the current round.

I gathered a lot of feedback concerning the ambiance sounds and the dedicated control option for them. Most of the players want to see it, and I will implement this feature in v.1.3.5.

Small fixes and improvements

Fixed a desync between Ada’s emotion and dress layers after the miniscene in the kitsune temple.

Added the second part of reactions to Ada being naked. It’s mainly focused on the castle grounds.

Fixed music not playing after loading a saved game in the new mountain zone.

Fixed Wisdom and Balance skill. Now it adds the correct amount of bonus stats.

Fixed the healing statues. Some of them weren’t blinking with the orb, and players didn’t think they could activate them. Now all healing shrines should have their animations on at all times.

Overview:
For most people, reality is a pretty firm concept. It’s a solid thing shared by everyone else, and a room painted blue will always be blue no matter which doorway you enter it through or who else is in the room with you or who walked through first, it won’t suddenly be red because you waited an hour before you went in.

And then for some people reality is a little different. Suffice to say, because you waited an hour, the room is not only no longer blue, the walls are covered in tentacles and now want to molest you. There, how’s that?

Become one of these weirdos and watch as reality bends around you, the mundane becoming strange, the strange fantastic, and the fantastic becomes lewd. Okay, that’s a lie, everything is lewd.​

More and more I keep feeling like months are both really long and really short. I’m not sure if it’s the amount of writing I’m managing to get done some days, or if it’s a 2020 thing.

I don’t mean this to sound braggy, but looking at the amount of stuff I got done this month and comparing it to updates when I first started putting this game out, or even when I first started the patreon, it’s pretty wild the difference there is. Learning the habits I need to keep for better focus has really helped and when I look at any one of the weekly updates it’s still kind of amazing to think that it could easily dwarf one of the monthly ones from a few years ago.

Anyway! Enough of that jazz. Let’s get to the actual update lists:

Devious World

  • Main: Eric’s choices for asking Santa for a family have been revised and some opened up.
  • Main: Eric can now stay at magic school over the break.
  • Main: Jamie can now look at the high-tech gizmos or vehicles on Nile.
  • Main: Holly can be snippy to the cat and witch trick-or-treaters.
  • Main: Eric can agree to be a breeder for Big Momma’s orc tribe.
  • Main: While fucking Darian during the threesome, Buddy can tell the other party to play with herself or suck Darian’s nipples.
  • Main: Jamie can now offer no comment to Sandy asking if he’s a virgin, or answer Lil either way. In a nearby dimension, he can also find that Will left a pair of panties out as a gift.
  • Main: Cypher can now bet his sex at Equivalent Exchange. She can also continue playing after being turned into a gynoid.
  • Main: Mike can go to the arcade on the last night of the week after befriending the animatronics.

Devious Mundanity

  • Main: Female!Leo can now decide to wait out the week in either fashion, hoping to change back at the end.
  • Main: Caliburn can now take another one of the calls while he’s on watch duty.

Admittedly, while there are a lot of bullet points on Devious World I’ll admit a few of them are just setup. Meanwhile while there’s only two for Devious Mundanity, both of them have quite a bit of content under the hood. (I hope those of you who were eager for more Morgan/Caliburn content don’t have a “be careful what you wish for” reaction. Heh. Heh. Heh.) But I think this is a nice, meaty update, probably a bit heavy on the story but still nicely seasoned with lewds of various kinds and intensities.
